Where the data comes from
Nothing here is crowdsourced, estimated, or copied from a wiki. The compendium is read from the game's own files, and the live numbers come straight from your running save.
Game data extracted: 9/23/2026
From the game to the app
Read the game
Big Ambitions ships managed C# assemblies (BigAmbitions.dll, plus .Items, .Characters and .Neighborhoods). We read the real data classes and logic from them, so prices, schedules and formulas are the game's own, not approximations.
Normalize it
A Python pipeline resolves every localization key, cross-references items, businesses, buildings and recipes, and computes the economic metrics, then writes type-safe JSON and a SQLite build.
Bundle it
The normalized JSON ships as static data with the site, so it loads instantly with no runtime fetch. The optional Live HQ mod layers your own save on top.
The app
The compendium, the calculators and Live HQ all read this data.
What the compendium holds
Every dataset, how many records it carries, and what is in it.
| Dataset | Records | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Items & goods | 690 | Wholesale cost, market price, storage volume, category, sales rank |
| Business types | 44 | Hourly customer traffic, equipment needs, opening hours, stock demands |
| Buildings & parcels | 885 | Address, footprint, district, daily rent, price, capacity, parking |
| Factory recipes | 62 | Ingredients, machines, batch output, skill scaling |
| Vehicles | 18 | Cargo capacity, speed, price, dealerships, licence needs |
| Boats | 3 | Price, tax treatment, luxury-yacht flag |
| Neighbourhoods | 7 | Social-class mix, price index, real-estate multiplier |
The maths behind the tools
The calculators use the game's own equations, mirrored from the assemblies. Three examples:
Retail price
The neighbourhood's social-class mix sets a price index, and a monopoly adds a bonus on top.
Open the pricing toolpriceIndex = (1.20*W + 1.40*M + 1.70*U) / (W + M + U) optimal = basePrice * (priceIndex + monopolyBonus) // +0.30 if you are the only seller ceiling = min(basePrice, lowestRival) * (priceIndex + monopolyBonus) // bonus only when the neighbourhood has demand
Marketing reach
How much of the building a campaign network covers, as a share of its square metres.
Open the marketing plannerreach% = min(100, campaignSqm * reachMultiplier / buildingSqm * 100)
Factory output
Worker skill scales the batch, from half output to full output.
Open the factory optimizerunitsPerBatch = baseAmount * (0.5 + skill / 200)
Figures are read from the game files or from your own save. Where the game records nothing, the app says so instead of guessing.
